I can’t weave all the time. For those times when I’m out and about, or watching TV, knitting (or spinning) is my craft of choice. At the end of August we headed out to Longreach<\/a> and Winton<\/a> for a short holiday, and I needed a new knitting project to knit on the plane (and bus). <\/p>\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n

In my stash I found some naturally dyed yarn I had acquired years ago from Simone at Gum Blossom Yarns<\/a>. When I bought the yarn I had scrawled down a pattern name – Snowmelt Shawl<\/a>. The pattern was perfect. It calls for three colours and knits up as a reasonable size semi-circular shawl. So, we headed off to outback Queensland …<\/p>\n\n\n\n

… and I started my shawl.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

I finished knitting a few weeks ago and finally got around to blocking it this week. I love how it has turned out.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The shawl blocked to a radius of about 30 inches. It’s lovely and has beautiful drape. Can’t wait to wear it!<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
